"The Lampstand Group have helped me with confidence building and my mental health. I would never have attended group workshops before as I would have found it overwhelming, but they support us going at the pace we can handle. If I needed time to just talk this is available. I feel valued. Thank you"

Let me tell you a story. I am a survivor of domestic & sexual violence. This has impacted me and caused arthritis. I was recently admitted to A&E for emergency decompression surgery on my lumbar spine. I find I’m often isolated or people aren’t available to help. I have been able to reach out to the lampstand group. I received flowers and chocolates whilst in hospital. This resulted in the nurse exclaiming ‘somebody loves you’. I cried because it was nice but an unusual experience. The nurse hugged me and provided a cuppa for everyone on the ward bay. I was then moved to rehab as i cant weight bare on my back as yet. My sister was unable to bring supplies to me. I was able to ask the lampstand group to help. They provided me with much needed essentials like shampoo and shower gel. A few moral boosting items were included. The visit from Jennifer was appreciated. Time flew and I noticed my pain disappeared for a while after she’d left. I am looking forward to attending the grace and glitter arts and crafts group when I’m better. It gives me some motivation and something to work towards as I do my physio exercises and build up my strength. Thankyou lampstand group. Love CJ. Xxx goes here
